English Lecturer-FE College (Barnsley)

Rate: £25–£28 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7.5 hours per day (30 hours per week)
Delivery: GCSE English

An established Further Education College in Barnsley is seeking an experienced English Lecturer to deliver high‑quality GCSE English teaching on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated educator who is passionate about supporting learners to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well‑planned GCSE English lessons
• Support learners of varied abilities to achieve target grades
• Assess work in line with awarding body and college requirements
• Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and classroom management
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• Experience teaching GCSE English within FE or a similar setting
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS, etc.)
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to motivate learners
• Current DBS certificate dated within the last 3 months or registered on the Update Service
• Availability Monday–Thursday throughout the contract period
